Reclaiming Pre-Colonial Science, Technology & History

Inspired by ground-breaking historical archives and documentaries, such as Zeinab Badawi’s History of Africa, we integrate authentic African history and indigenous STEM directly into our enrichment programs.

• Indigenous Metallurgy & Engineering: students learn that over 1,500 years ago, Lake Victoria’s Haya ironmasters produced carbon steel in blast furnaces at temperatures of 1,400°C, achieved long before similar industrial processes in Europe.
• Ethnomathematics & Binary Logic: our learners explore how ancestral African divination systems, such as Ifá, used 8-bit binary logic, the same mathematical principle that powers modern computer science and digital microprocessors.
• Architectural Mastery: from the dry-stone walls of Great Zimbabwe to the coral stone palaces of Kilwa Kisiwani in Tanzania, we study indigenous sustainable design to inspire modern green building practices across our campus.

Grounded in Rich Afro-Christian Heritage

As a Christian international school that warmly welcomes students of all faiths, we dismantle the myth that faith arrived in Africa purely through 19th-century colonial channels. Drawing from primary archives like the Dictionary of African Christian Biography, our students discover that Africa was one of the primary cradles of global Christian thought.

• The African Church Fathers: global theology was shaped by North and East African intellects, including St. Augustine, Tertullian, Athanasius, and Origen.
• Early African Christian Kingdoms: Ethiopia adopted Christianity as a state religion in the 4th century, centuries before much of Europe.
• Indigenous Linguists & Scholars: African scholars preserved local languages by translating scriptures into Swahili, Ge’ez, and native dialects, saving indigenous languages from erasure.

When our students study theology, ethics, and leadership, they understand that they are reclaiming a rich spiritual and intellectual inheritance birthed on African soil.

Commercialising African Sports, Performance & Creative Arts

We refuse to relegate traditional culture to mere folklore. The global sports, media, and entertainment markets generate hundreds of billions of dollars annually, and Africa’s creative talent deserves centre stage.

• Indigenous Sports & Game Science: we professionalise traditional games like Bao, a complex mathematical board game, integrating them into our STEM curriculum, digital coding labs, and regional sports tournaments alongside Olympic swimming, football, and tennis.
• Vichekesho & Performance Arts: we formalise East African drama, traditional dance (ngoma), and comedic satire (vichekesho) into high-rigour studio disciplines. Students learn scriptwriting, stagecraft, sound engineering, and digital media monetisation, preparing them to lead East Africa’s expanding creative economy.
